I would like to introduce myself, I am Jackie Davis, and I have been elected as your President for 2022 – 2023 year.
I was born and raised in the Kamloops Area, both my parents were long term members of Kamloops Old Time Fiddlers’ Branch and I have been an active BCOTFA Member since 2007 at my local Kamloops Branch #12, and on the Provincial Board for the last 11 years, so I have seen many different stages of the BCOTFA and am looking forward to seeing many more.
Though I do not play any instrument, I enjoy the music of Old Time Fiddling, I could dance the night away. This Society is a great group of people that and in this capacity, I hope to get to know many more of you.
We have a great Board of Officers, and we are looking forward to working together and keeping in touch with the branches around the province.
Please remember that every member of the BCOTFA has an important role in this society. Everyone has a voice, and we would love to hear any ideas on how to assist in helping move the BCOTFA in a positive direction. Helping the different branches by networking with each other in the actives that work well, and not so well in their area, to encourage the continued success of the Great Music that we all love “Old Time Fiddling”.
We are looking forward to helping the BCOTFA grown in a positive forward motion, and I am glad and excited to have a small part in this.
